When you fulfill PhotoDay orders through PDX, PhotoDay pays you your lab cost for every order: your base cost for the products plus the shipping. That money is paid to a Stripe Express account you connect in your PDX dashboard.

Connect Stripe Express in PDX
Log in to PDX.
In the left menu, under Settings, click Payment.
Click Connect Stripe.
Follow the steps in Stripe to create and verify your account.
If you leave before finishing, come back to Payment and click Continue Stripe Setup.
Connect Stripe before you take your first order so your payouts aren't delayed. If you connect later, payouts for orders you've already received are sent once your account is set up.
Already have a Stripe Express account for your PhotoDay studio? You can sign in to Stripe with the same email, and Stripe may fill in your saved details. PDX still creates a separate Stripe Express account for your lab payouts. Both can pay out to the same bank account.
When you get paid
PhotoDay sends your lab cost to your Stripe account when each order is placed. Stripe then pays out to your bank weekly, every Monday. There's no PhotoDay fee on lab cost.
Vertical studios: why you see two payouts
"Vertical studio" means a studio that does its own printing and shipping.
If you're a vertical studio, you get paid twice for each order:
Your studio payout: your share of the sale, paid to the Stripe Express account set up in your PhotoDay Studio account. See When and how do I get paid?
Your lab payout: the base cost of the products plus shipping, paid to the Stripe Express account connected in PDX.
Together, the two payouts add up to your full earnings for the order. They come from two separate Stripe Express accounts, which can deposit into the same bank account.
New studios: Studio accounts created on or after July 1, 2026 have studio payouts held until business verification is complete. Once you're verified, held funds are released and you move to weekly payouts on Mondays. Learn more.
Labs: what's included in your payout
Your PDX payout for each order includes:
Product base cost: your price for each item in the order. Bulk-ship orders use your bulk price.
Shipping: the full shipping rate for the order. You receive it even when the studio offers the customer free shipping.
Bulk shipping to the studio isn't part of your payout. Labs bill studios for bulk shipping directly, outside of PhotoDay.
Common questions
Is there a PhotoDay fee on lab cost?
No. PhotoDay fees apply to the studio's share of the sale, not to lab cost.
Why didn't my lab payout arrive with my studio payout?
They're separate payouts from separate Stripe accounts. Lab cost is paid through your PDX Stripe account, and studio earnings are paid through your Studio Stripe account.
Do I need a new Stripe Express account for PDX?
Yes. PDX sets up its own Stripe Express account for lab payouts when you click Connect Stripe. Vertical studios can sign in with the same email they use for their studio account and pay out to the same bank account.
