Job Duplication

Create a new job by cloning an existing job’s settings

Written by Brian Derenski

Job Duplication lets you clone an existing job to use as the starting point for a new one, saving you multiple steps and clicks! All of your job settings—price sheet, theme, gallery configuration, flyers, and more—carry forward automatically. You'll only need to fill in a few required fields like the job name and picture date.

When to use Job Duplication

  • Pre-season setup: Duplicate last year's job for each returning event

  • Same organization, new picture day: Retain settings without starting from scratch

  • Creating variations: If you want to use an existing job’s setup, but with slightly different settings, this is the fastest way to do it.

How to Duplicate a Job

From the Jobs list, click the Copy button on the job row you want to duplicate.

A window will open where you can complete two steps.

Step 1: Job Information

All relevant fields are pre-populated from the existing job. You must update:

  • Job Name: Pre-filled as "[Original Name] (Copy)" with auto-incrementing numbers for subsequent copies

  • Picture Date: Blank, required

  • All other fields (category, organization, time zone, location, FaceFind setting) carry forward from the existing job into the new job.

Step 2: Job Settings

  • Access Code: If the job is Group or Public.

  • Job Expiration Date: If the existing job had an expiration date.

  • Yearbook Selection Deadline: If the existing job had yearbook selection enabled.

  • Duplicate Subject Data & Reference Photos: If the existing job has subject data, you can choose whether to carry them over or not. Access codes are always regenerated and never carried over.

  • Bulk Shipping: If the existing job used a Bulk Shipping price sheet, please note that these settings must be reconfigured in this job’s settings.

When you’re ready, click Duplicate Job to create the new job.

What Settings Carry Over

Notes on Subject Data

  • If you choose to copy subject data, all subjects carry over, but access codes are regenerated. Old codes will not work in the new job.

Notes on Bulk Shipping

  • If your existing job used a bulk shipping price sheet, the price sheet carries over, but bulk shipping must be fully reconfigured on the new job
