Have you ever wished you could control how many poses customers can include in a package? With Limited Pose Packages, you can choose how many unique photos/poses a customer can select per package (with support for group photo requirements).

Use Limited Pose Packages if you’d like the ability to:

  • Set a maximum number of unique photos/poses selectable per package (1, 2, or 3)

  • Require a Group Photo for specific products within a package

  • Ensure images within a required Group Photo product do not count toward the pose limit

  • Provide customers with a dedicated pose-selection flow, separate from PhotoDay’s traditional package selection experience

In the customer gallery, Limited Pose Packages are labeled as such (e.g., 2 Pose Package) while others are labeled as “Unlimited Pose Package” to increase the appeal and value of those larger, unrestricted packages.

How to Set Up Limited Pose Packages

To get started with Limited Pose Packages, create or edit a package and toggle on “Enable Pose Selection Limit.” Select whether the package should allow 1, 2, or 3 poses.

When adding products to the package, each product will have a “Require Group Photo” option.

Selecting this will prompt the customer to select a group photo during checkout as a separate step.

The group photo does not count toward the pose limit. Memory Mates that require a group photo will use the group photo in the group spot and allow the customer to use one of their selected individual poses for the other spot.

Managing Group Photos

Photos with more than 4 faces are automatically flagged as Group Photos. To adjust which images are considered Group Photos, go to the Photos tab within a Job. Images can be marked or unmarked individually using the group icon on the photo card, or in bulk via multi-select using the action button in the top right.

Customer Experience

Package cards in the gallery will display either the pose limit (e.g., "Single Pose Package") or an "Unlimited Pose Package" banner.

When a customer adds a Pose Selection package to their cart, they enter a new selection flow:

  1. Pose Selection — Customer selects their pose(s) up to the package limit. For single-pose packages, all products are pre-selected with that pose.

  2. Group Photo Selection (if required by any product) — Customer selects their Group Photo as a separate step.

  3. Customization — For 2- or 3-pose packages, customers can switch between selected poses across products. Multi-photo or themeable products must be customized before the package is completed.

  4. Confirm & Add to Cart — Once all items are confirmed, the package is added to their cart.
